One of the Most Popular Questions we are asked is how much time will my Hard Drives store before they overwrite?
You have a lot of factors that go into answering this question. Which DVR you have, how many camera channels, how you have it set to record (continuously or on motion settings), record settings of resolution and frames per second, quality, etc. So two customers with the same DVR and hard drive space can get widely different settings. From a few days to a few months.
On our 16 channel DVRs if you have the DVRs set to the highest of all settings and you have a full 16 cameras recording all the time on a 1Tb drive you could get 3 days or 24 days depending on how you set the system.
If you had an 8 channel DVR you could potentially double the # of days, and for a 4 channel DVR you could quadruple the days.
